Local Area Events

 Every Wednesday evening a Meditation Open House is offered at the St. Johnsbury Shambhala Center at 17 Eastern Ave. in St. Johnsbury. The entrance is at street level between the Star Theater and Sunshine Boutique. Everyone is welcome, whether new to meditation, re-connecting with meditation, or already engaging in a meditation practice. Clear and simple meditation instruction is always offered for beginners. Sitting starts at 6:00, followed at 6:30by a talk and discussion by a senior teacher and then refreshments. This weekly event is free and open to the public.

Loon chick has hatched

Hi everyone: The Harvey's Lake loon chick has hatched! After monitoring the loon nest in the marsh since May 28, I saw a loon with the chick on its back on the lake  yesterday, June 21. From the amount of loon calling that people have heard the last few nights, it seems  that the chick probably hatched earlier this week.
